At Secure Medical Care we can perform your immigration medical exam any day of the week. The medical exam will take about an hour to complete. The Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) section includes common questions about the medical exams.

If English is not your native language, you may wish to bring someone along with you to help answer questions and fill out forms. The official immigration forms used by the CIS will be provided to you by our office; you do not need to bring these forms with you.

The following tests are required by the US Citizenship and Immigration Service, or USCIS (formerly the Immigration & Naturalization Service, or INS) for anyone age 15 or older and will be provided by our clinic:

Skin test for tuberculosis (PPD)
Blood test to check for AIDS/HIV
Blood test for syphilis (RPR)

If you have had a vaccination against tuberculosis (BCG) in the past or have had a positive skin test for tuberculosis, you may need to have a chest x-ray to make sure you do not have active tuberculosis.
Certain immunizations are required by the USCIS, and if you are not able to produce proof that you have had these, you will need to have them administered as part of your immigration physical exam. You will be asked if you have ever had any of the following illnesses or vaccinations against them:

Hepatitis
Influenza
Measles, Mumps, Rubella
Pneumonia
Polio
Tetanus
Varicella (Chicken Pox)

The following information should be brought with you to your visit:

Personal identification with your photograph on it and your medical and vaccination records
We will provide you with the most current I-693 forms.

How much does the immigration physical cost?

The cost of the immigration medical exam is $135. This includes blood work (tests for syphilis and HIV) and a skin test for tuberculosis. If you need immunizations or a chest x-ray, there would be additional charges, which are listed below. There will also be an additional charge if a confirmation HIV test is needed. The cost is the same for children and adults.

How long will it take before the results and documents are ready?

Your forms can be ready in 2-3 days.  Laboratory test results usually return within 24 hours (Monday through Friday).  The tuberculosis test must be read between 48 and 72 hours.  If the tuberculosis test is positive, a chest x-ray is required, which can add another day.

Can I get my chest x-ray and blood work done somewhere else and bring you the results?

All blood work must be done at our facility; no results can be brought in from an outside lab. We also prefer that your chest x-ray be done at our facility. However, if you have had a chest x-ray within the past year and bring it with you to your exam, we will decide on a case-by-case basis if the x-ray is acceptable.
