Secure Medical Care staff members walk for fitness with Montgomery Village employees.
On Wednesday, April 28, Secure Medical Care employees laced up their sneakers once again to join Montgomery Village Foundation employees for the fourth annual National Walk@Lunch Day. About two dozen folks in all enjoyed the sunshine and exercise together as they completed the two mile, midday walk around Lake Marion in Montgomery Village.
Every spring, employees of companies in all 50 states take charge of their health by participating in this Blue Cross Blue Shield-sponsored event. National Walk@Lunch Day helps people incorporate physical activity into their work day and encourages them to increase their daily physical activity by walking at lunch every day.

National Walk@Lunch Day is terrific–an easy, energy-boosting, low-cost way to get people walking outdoors as a first step toward exercising regularly”, said Dr. Louise Moody, co-owner of Secure Medical Care. “The key rewards for people with active lifestyles are better general health and fewer medical problems. Secure Medical Care’s participation in this event underscores our commitment to making good health more achievable.”

Dr. Moody added, “While the health benefits associated with Walk@Lunch Day are great, our staff and customers like this event also because it's a fun activity that builds morale and camaraderie among colleagues.” Secure Medical Care staffers who participated included Gaithersburg clinical director Joe Bartos, Gary DeVor, Chona Engco, Judy MacMurray, Cinthia Ruiz, and Hui Wang.
