Every spring, employees of companies nationwide participate in the Blue Cross Blue Shield “National Walk@Lunch Day” event, which advocates health and wellness by encouraging employees of companies across the country to incorporate physical activity into their workday.

This year, on April 29, employees of Montgomery Village participated in the annual event right here—thanks to local sponsorship by Secure Medical Care.

If you’re like Montgomery Village employees, you might know Secure Medical Care as a comprehensive occupational health partner—a trusted resource for work-related injury and illness treatments. But if you’ve lived in Montgomery Village for a while, you know Secure Medical Care has been in the neighborhood for more than 20 years, taking care of coughs and colds, bumps and bruises. And it’s only fitting that Secure Medical Care would take a special interest in the health of the Montgomery Village Community; the doctors who own it—Dr. Louise Moody and Dr. Martin Liss—are neighbors, themselves.

Much More than Occupational Health

Secure Medical Care provides a range of services including annual physicals, flu shots, and injury treatment to organizations of all sizes throughout the Washington metropolitan area. But according to Dr. Moody, the organization is also committed to educating people about their health. “We always enjoy the opportunity to sponsor local events like Walk@Lunch to underscore our belief that giving people information about their health helps them to live healthier lives,” Moody said. “We strive to make better health more achievable.”

Great Healthcare for Residents and their Families, Right in the Neighborhood

Secure Medical Care does more than help keep workplaces safe and employees working. Open every day, at night and on weekends, Secure Medical Care delivers urgent medical care whenever area residents and their families need it most. “Good, affordable healthcare is crucial for our communities,” says Dr. Liss, “but these days, convenience is key. We’re giving our neighbors what they need and want.” Located next to the fire station at 803 Russell Avenue in Gaithersburg (with a second clinic located in Beltsville), Secure Medical Care is certainly in the neighborhood. And with a staff of board-certified physicians and physician assistants, expert medical care is readily available. Patients can drop in for treatment of minor illnesses, injuries, shots or physicals for camp, school or sports—all without an appointment. In addition, x-rays, lab tests and pharmacy services are available on-site to help patients save time. Secure Medical Care physicians and PAs are always willing to coordinate treatment with a patient’s regular doctor.

It’s impossible to predict an illness or injury. That’s why it can’t hurt to know good doctors who are available to help when you need it. Secure Medical Care’s convenient location and hours of operation mean the next time you need a doctor to treat a minor illness or injury, you might not have to leave the neighborhood.
